I'm Matt Humphries, a poet and writer based in the West Midlands. My writing is inspired by past events, social issues, love. mental illness, emotions, substance misuse and pork pie.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my wife for all her understanding when i'm writing and all the love, support, feedback and kisses she provides too.

I have only been writing for a relatively short space of time and have learned an awful lot from more experienced poets that I have met. I have recently started performing my work, although I am still trying to master the nerves.

I am a passionate advocate for mental health and immensely proud of the work I do for Birmingham Mind as a Recovery Worker/Administrator.
