Pork Pie

Oh pork pie, I love you so

Although it’s likely that you will kill me

From coronary heart disease

Or some blood born virus as I depart

And as I bite into your gristle

Your pastry crisp and brittle

I munch upon your delightful waste

I wonder if anyone could take your place

You pile on calories to my stomach

And make me feel all kinds of wondrous

Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire

Is our place to be sincere?

As our pork snack disappears

I get to thinking years from here

As I sit in a residential home

Munching pork pie and quaffing beer
