Walls Pt 2

We build walls,
We build walls so high.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is reach out.
We hide our feelings,
Never show our selves compassion,
Stop opening up.
And communicating our passions.
And we build walls,
We build walls so tall.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is reach out.
We have stopped interacting,
With our fellow man.
Never look in anyone’s faces,
As we are rushing past.
And we build walls,
We build walls so high.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is reach out.
We never express,
Our darkest emotions.
Sleeping with worry,
In Ikea beds.
And we build walls,
We build walls so tall.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is reach out.
We buy throwaway items,
At extortionate prices.
Then store them in cupboards,
Till we donate them to charity.
And we build walls,
We build walls so high.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is break out.
Break them down, break them down,
Little brick by little brick.
Until the wall is nothing,
Until you believe that you are something.
We never believe,
That we can fly.
Soaring like Goss Hawks,
Right up to the sky.
We never believe,
That we are worth it.
Just punish ourselves.
With alcohol and needles.
We close ourselves off,
To life’s many pleasures.
Consumed by guilt,
From our own twisted journeys.
We never see,
That we are heroes.
To the children that love us,
And the wives that we marry.
Instead; we build walls, we build walls,
We build walls so high.
That they nearly reach the sky,
When all we really need to do is break them down.
